Michelle Kaskie, founder of Mixie Mane

Our Story

The Woman Behind
the Mane

A late-diagnosed AuDHD stylist. 20+ years behind the chair.

One problem no one was solving.

Michelle Kaskie, AuDHD stylist and founder of Mixie Mane

Meet Michelle

She didn't find the
perfect extension.
So she invented it.

Michelle Kaskie has spent over two decades in the beauty industry, styling backstage at New York Fashion Week, working on film sets, and building her own salon, Salon Greige. She's seen it all, done it all, and styled everyone.

But as a late-diagnosed adult with Autism and ADHD, Michelle knew something the industry refused to acknowledge: traditional hair extensions weren't made for people like her. The clips. The weight. The pressure. The sensory overwhelm was real, and nobody was talking about it, let alone solving it.

She also knew, from her fight with life-threatening Crohn's disease, that time and energy are not things to waste. You need solutions that work: fast, reliably, and without making your day harder.

The Invention

Born from necessity.
Perfected by expertise.

The Mixie Mane began as Michelle's personal solution: a way to add 22+ inches of gorgeous hair in under 5 minutes, without any of the sensory triggers that made other extensions impossible to wear.

The patent-pending double-wefted halo system she designed sits differently from anything else on the market. It distributes weight evenly, eliminates pressure points, and moves with you, not against you. Like wearing air.

She tested it where the stakes were highest: New York Fashion Week. Models. Cameras. Runway lights. Deadline pressure. It didn't just pass. It became the backstage secret weapon.

The Mission

Finally, a luxury product made for sensitive souls.
Not just tolerated by them.

Mixie Mane exists at the intersection of two worlds that rarely meet: high-fashion luxury and genuine accessibility. Not as a concession. Not as an afterthought. But as the entire point.

Neurodivergent-First

Every design decision starts with sensory comfort. The AuDHD community deserves luxury solutions, not afterthoughts.

Engineering Over Aesthetics

The Mixie Mane is beautiful because it's engineered to be. The patent-pending technology is the foundation everything is built on.

The Curb-Cut Effect

Designed for the neurodivergent community and universally better for everyone. Comfort shouldn't be a niche feature.

Salon Greige

Where it all started.
